BIS-CRS (Also known as Compulsory Registration Scheme) is a mandatory certification requirement under Bureau of Indian Standards. As per the order no person shall manufacturer, import, store, sell or distribute the goods/products, as notified in the order from time to time, which do not conform to specified Indian Standard(s) & without getting the R-Number from BIS.
The process requires the manufacturer to register with BIS, get their products tested in any of the BIS Recognized Testing Laboratories situated in India followed by applying for a Registration Number with BIS.
